At the rate new smartphones are being made and sold every year, that’s a lot of materials that are being consumed and we have to ask ourselves how much of an environmental impact are we making because of it?
Companies like Apple have long touted the environmentally-friendly materials they use, plus the company also made a controversial decision to not include the charger with the iPhone, citing eco-friendliness as the reason. Now it looks like Realme is hopping on board the green bandwagon with their latest GT2 Pro smartphone that the company says uses a bio-based polymer design.
According to Realme, the use of this new material for the phone results in a reduction of 35.5% in carbon emissions during the manufacturing process, which is actually pretty impressive. Seeing as this phone is meant to be a flagship, we can’t say we’re too surprised to learn that under the hood, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset will be powering the handset
The phone will also be using a 120Hz 1440p LTPO OLED display, and will also feature a 5,000mAh battery. As for the cameras, the GT2 Pro will be using a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor for its main shooter, and another 50MP sensor for its ultrawide, and a 40x micro-lens macro camera. The Realme GT2 Pro will be priced starting at €649.
